My name is Luke Kelly, and I’m a web designer based in Denver, Colorado and the owner of Black Lion Websites. During the dot-com boom of the late 90’s I took an entry-level job as an html developer for an online education company, where they taught me how to write html code so I could implement content for their internet-based courses. I’ve been working with websites ever since, and now have a Master’s degree in website design and development from the University of Denver.
What I really enjoy about website design is the combination of creativity and technical skill. I get the chance to tap into my creative side and produce something that looks great. On the technical side, it’s a lot like putting a puzzle together and I get to problem-solve and put the pieces of the website together to ensure it works as intended.
Why “Black Lion?”
I chose a lion as the symbol for my business because lions are intelligent and aggressive, and that’s how I like to approach my website projects. Intelligent in that I use my knowledge of websites and the internet to provide the right solution for my clients. Aggressive in that I jump in on a project and work to complete it in a timely manner so that you are happy.
The name is also homage to the town of Blacklion, Ireland, where my Irish ancestors are from.
